Helping you bridge the gap between the difficult place you are currently in and where you would like to be in your life.
Hello, I'm Dr Fiona Dowman
I’m a Clinical Psychologist and founder of Purple Bridge Psychology. I specialise in helping adults to change their relationship with alcohol or drugs. I can help you to develop alternative coping tools so you no longer have to rely on alcohol or drugs to deal with life’s challenges and you can live in line with your values.
I also help adults to navigate the impact of a loved one's past or present alcohol or drug use, develop coping tools, improve wellbeing and quality of life.

Whether you find yourself stuck in a cycle of addiction or you’re a loved one affected by someone else’s addiction, I am here to help!
When you're trying to change your relationship with alcohol, it’s natural to focus on setting goals. “I’ll only drink on weekends” or “no more wine on weeknights” but if you don’t know why you want to make those changes, it’s hard to stick to them. This is where values come in.
As a clinical psychologist, I often talk to clients about values and why they are the most important thing to consider when trying to drink less alcohol.
I'm going to begin with a story about Ian.
